Chase Elliott still holds the point lead after Stage 2

Loudon, New Hampshire - The NASCAR Cup Series opens as Martin Truex Jr. starts the front row. Chase Elliott and he work in close proximity to each other to begin the race. They come into contact just before the first turn. However, Elliott manages to stay ahead of the race and avoid collision. Erik Jones contacts Justin Haley and spins along the track. Alex Bowlicki contacts Elliott and then spins across the track. Elliott is still in front heading into stage 2.

Bad weather delayed the race for almost two hours. Elliott held the lead for the 37 remaining laps, even after a restart. After stopping to get fuel and tires, Elliott was in third.
